6. Product Features

1. F91 Alloy Steel Construction: ASTM A182 F91 (9Cr-1Mo-V) provides exceptional high-temperature creep strength and oxidation resistance, making it ideal for supercritical and ultra-supercritical power plant applications up to 593°C (1100°F).
2. Bellows Seal: Fully welded stainless steel (or Inconel) bellows provides a hermetic seal, eliminating fugitive emissions and ensuring zero stem leakage—critical for high-temperature steam and hazardous services.
3. Class 1500 Pressure Rating: Designed for extreme high-pressure applications, ensuring safe operation in demanding environments.
4. Socket Weld Ends: Provides a permanent, high-integrity connection suitable for high-pressure, high-temperature piping systems; eliminates flange leaks.
5. Hard-Faced Trim: Stellite 6 hard-facing on wedge and seat surfaces provides excellent wear resistance and tight shut-off under severe service conditions.
6. Backseat Feature: Allows for packing replacement under pressure (when valve is fully open), enhancing safety and reducing maintenance downtime.
7. Gear Operator (Recommended): Due to the high torque required for Class 1500 gate valves, a gear operator is typically provided for smooth and easy operation.
8. High-Temperature Bolting: ASTM A193 B16 studs and A194 4 nuts provide reliable bolting integrity at elevated temperatures.

• Material Significance: F91 is a high-performance chromium-molybdenum-vanadium alloy steel specifically designed for high-temperature applications such as superheater headers, main steam lines, and turbine bypass systems.
• Bellows Material: For extremely high-temperature services (above 500°C), consider Inconel 625bellows instead of 316L for enhanced thermal stability.
• Inspection: For critical power plant applications, specify NDE (Non-Destructive Examination) requirements such as liquid penetrant testing (PT) and radiographic testing (RT) per ASME B16.34.
• Gear Operator: Class 1500 gate valves typically require a gear operator due to high operating torque. Confirm inclusion with manufacturer.
• For specific dimensional data, torque values, and NDE requirements, please refer to the official certified drawings and inspection test plans (ITP) from the manufacturer.
